Lia awarded Woman of the Year!

Between 21st and 22nd June, Sensors Converge took place in San Jose where Zero Point Motion exhibited at the event for the first time. Sensors Converge brings together the design engineering community to network, share ideas, and define the future roadmap for the sensors industry. The team representing Zero Point Motion met a number of attendees whose applications ranged from autonomous vehicles to augmented/virtual reality.

Zero Point Motion were finalists for the Startup of the year award, but the highlight of the event was Founder & CEO Lia Li being awarded as Woman on the Year! A period which included the growth of the team at ZPM and 2 patents being granted.

Charlene Soucy, Senior Director, Technology – Sensors & Electronics said, “Congratulations to the individuals, teams and technologies on their award wins. Each year we are continually amazed at the innovations and achievements the award winners have created.  Wes on The winners have outdone themselves this year with their innovations and perseverance. We are excited to honour them as the best of the best in the industry.”

Zero Point Motion’s optically enhanced inertial sensors benefit from lower noise optical readout by implementing a photonic integrated circuit for the sensing mechanism. This enables our inertial sensors to be used for position and tracking of drones in environments where GNSS signals are deteriorated or denied, such as indoors (warehousing, factories), underwater or underground.

Talking about the event, “There is a need for improved inertial sensing for mass market applications and current hardware appears to have stalled,” said Lia “our photonics approach will improve performance by 100x enabling applications such as autonomous drone flight and indoor navigation to take off.”
