Welcome Ning!

Meet Ning, Zero Point Motion’s Product Manager and Silicon Photonics expert, who will be working on the photonic integrated chip (PIC) and prototype/product development.

Ning received her Ph.D degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the University of Bristol in 2016, where she studied the design and validation of semiconductor photonic devices. Then, she joined the University of Glasgow as a post-doc leading the PIC prototype development in a Horizon 2020 project.

In 2019, Ning joined Oxford Instrument Plasma Technology (OIPT), where she further expanded her skillset in semiconductor device manufacturing and developed a broader understanding of foundries, production lines, and the semiconductor industry

From 2021, Ning joined Compound Semiconductor Applications Catapult (CSAC) as a senior photonics engineer, followed by a promotion to principal photonics engineer in 2022. At CSAC, she led the PIC prototype development, including inhouse chip design, establishing die level, wafer level, and prototype level testing services, and creating the company’s PIC Prototype development roadmap.

Ning met Lia in a national quantum supply chain consortium. The similar background and passions in technology innovations shared with Lia leads Ning to work together with Lia and join the ZPM team! At Zero Point Motion, Ning will focus on the design and testing of the photonics chip. Meanwhile, she will work on the plan and coordination of the prototype/product development to deliver the production milestones in time.

‘’I am so excited to join Zero Point Motion! This is the sort of the business for future technology and next generation of global product! Also, Lia has built a fantastic team! I am ready to get aboard for this great adventure!’’
